I have been experimenting with different tools to explore new ways of building narrative visuals. One of the recent ideas I’ve developed is a concept title sequence for a psychological drama series, think Netflix or Apple TV territory.
Each shot reveals a different member of the same family, but alone, in a domestic setting, but the entire house is submerged underwater.
It’s a metaphor for secrets, emotional pressure, and the slow drowning sensation that comes with grief and guilt. Every family member is isolated in their own scene, hinting that everyone is hiding something.
To heighten the sense of unease, I reversed the footage in Adobe After Effects -the slowed, drifting movements added a ghostlike tension.
